Gary Landa

Gary is a co-founder of Pacific Legal. He had over 20 years’ experience in the field of litigation before embarking on a career representing consumers who had been mis-sold various financial products in the UK including PPI, business loan hedging products, pensions(including SIPPs)and more. He has helped clients recover over £100m to date and is now a Solicitor at the forefront of the financial claims industry in Scotland.

Graham Craik

Principal

Graham is recognised as one of the leading Commercial Litigation Lawyers in Scotland and has been involved in many of the most high profile cases in the last 10 years. He is experienced in working as part of national and international teams representing the interests of some of the largest companies in the world.

He regularly advises on complex commercial disputes with an international dimension. He has extensive experience of advising clients who are seeking recovery of evidence in connection with litigation and also advising clients who are the subject of recovery of evidence procedures and dawn raids.

He has pursued one of the most complex and valuable professional negligence cases ever brought before the Scottish Courts. He has also defended product liability claims arising from allegedly defective medical implants. He regularly deals with contract disputes, property disputes and insolvency.

Craig is Chief Financial Officer and responsible for the financial management functions of the business.

Craig is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland, having trained with a large accountancy firm and has over 20 years of experience.

He has performed a variety of financial and commercial roles across a range of sectors including insurance, utilities and law, gaining extensive experience of financial reporting, planning and cash management.

David McKie

Principal

He has vast experience in almost all forms of litigation including police investigations, criminal cases, civil disputes (court and via mediation or arbitration) and all forms of inquiries – public, parliamentary and fatal accident inquiries.

His exceptional experience included working as a young lawyer on major public inquiries, ground-breaking media cases and learning his trade in the civil and criminal courts throughout Scotland. In recent years, he led the legal teams for Alex Salmond in his successful judicial review against the Scottish government, the criminal trial as well assisting the former First Minister’s interests as a key contributor to the Parliamentary Inquiry. He represents many key figures in politics, education, business and in the major professions, providing both legal and reputation management advice.

David also has a substantial rural and agricultural practice with a focus on representing a large number of sporting estates in Scotland, including their (often high profile) owners, managers and employees, as well as advising the major rural sporting representative bodies in the UK and looking after their many members.

He advises many of the major media companies in the UK, in print, broadcast and online. He was head of media law at the University of Glasgow for ten years and has advised on almost all of the major media stories in Scotland over the last quarter century, many of which have changed the law. He has authored books, legal articles and is a regular commentator on legal issues in the media. 

His clients include major corporations, celebrities and extremely successful entrepreneurs. Much of his work is referred from other lawyers who rely on his specialism and experience in niche areas of the law.

He is married with four children.

Dominic Ball

Dom, has over a 10 years’ experience in the claims industry, specialising in optimising the claims journey to ensure a seamless, efficient, and customer-centric process. His expertise lies in managing and refining every stage of the claim’s lifecycle, from initial filing to final resolution, with a sharp focus on delivering the best possible outcomes for clients.

As the Operations Manager, his role is to simplify and enhance the client experience, ensuring that each claim is handled swiftly, accurately, and with the highest level of care. Whether addressing complex claims or supporting routine processes, his mission is to get the client the result they deserve—quickly, fairly, and with minimal stress.

Garry Groundland

Client Services Manager

Garry began his career in the field of Accountancy before taking up a senior position in the family jewellery business where he worked for over 20 years in stock control. In 2009 he joined the Lanarkshire Law Firm, Nelson Gibb & Landa where he became Head of Claims specialising in Financial Reclaims, particularly in the PPI Sector. He later moved to the Glasgow Law Firm Carr Berman Crichton where he worked in a similar role as Head of Claims before joining Pacific Legal in 2024 as Client Services Manager specialising in the Reclaim of Unfair Investment Charges.
